8 Fun Things to Do in Broward County This Weekend
Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2, 2026
The weekend is almost here, and Broward County has plenty of ways to enjoy it. You can listen to live music, help clean the beach, watch a movie outside, shop near the ocean, or enjoy a relaxing morning in the park.
Many of these events are free, so you do not need to spend a lot to have a good time.
1. Rock Out at Starlight Musicals
Start Friday night with live music at Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale. The Shaw Davis Band and The Black Ties will perform high-energy rock music as part of the summer Starlight Musicals series.
Bring a lawn chair, blanket, snacks, and something cold to drink. It is an easy way to enjoy music outside with family or friends.
When: Friday, July 31, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Holiday Park, 1150 G. Harold Martin Drive, Fort Lauderdale
Cost: Free (Fort Lauderdale Parks & Rec)
2. Help Clean Hollywood Beach
Want to do something good for the community? Join a volunteer beach cleanup at Hollywood North Beach Park on Friday morning.
Volunteers will pick up litter and debris from the sand. You can help protect the beach, meet new people, and still have most of the day left for other plans.
When: Friday, July 31, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Where: Carpenter House at Hollywood North Beach Park
Cost: Free (Hollywood)
3. Watch a Movie Under the Stars
Friday night is also movie night at ArtsPark in Downtown Hollywood. This week’s outdoor movie is Michael.

Where: ArtsPark Amphitheater at Young Circle, Hollywood
Cost: Free (Hollywood)
4. Stretch at Yoga in the Park

Young performers will take the stage at the Broward Center for a special production of Hadestown: Teen Edition.
The show is based on the popular Broadway musical and is performed by students from a summer theater program. It is a fun way to support young local performers while enjoying an evening at the theater.
When: Performances are scheduled during the weekend. Check the Broward Center for the available showtimes.
